Alice on Fire!
Fire Island, that is — a long, narrow strip of beach where many New Yorkers, Alice Cooper among them, have their summer homes. Come along and let Alice show you how he relaxes at home by the sea!
"Hi — and welcome to Fire Island! It's a lazy Sunday afternoon, and there's nothing I like better than just sitting on my terrace overlooking the Great South Bay and watching movies on TV!"
"I'm waiting for my boat to come, so I can go fishing. It's on its way from the mainland, and should be here any minute."
"We can see the boat in the distance now! THer guy in the bathing suit is Mike Roswell, who works with me and is a good friend!"
"That's me and my road manager, Dave Libert, getting the boat ready to sail!"
"This was a fishing expedition, but that fish just aren't biting today ‐ you can tell that from the look on my face!"
"So much for fishing! Might as well sit back and enjoy the ride — but I'm keeping my eye on the water just in case they start jumping!"
"Back at home, and just hangin' out in my living room."
"Well, the fish weren't biting — but the flies are! Think I'll swat me a few before dinner!"
"Here's the bike I use for getting around on the island. Fire Island is very long, but only a few hundred feet wide, so there are no cars permitted here. Right over those dunes behind me is the Atlantic Ocean!"
"Hey, goodbye, and thanks for visiting! It sure was fun sharing this day with you — and come back soon!"
And just who is that interesting duo with Alice Cooper? Why, it's none other than actress Jean Simmons with "ape man" Roddy McDowall. Alice (on the right in the picture) was part of a star-studded benefit held recently in the Hollywood Bowl to raise funds for staging Shakespearean productions in Los Angeles! Hmmm — Alice could play all three witches in Macbeth, maybe?!
