New Teen Clubs To Open in Valley

A bright future is seen for teen entertainment scene in the Valley for the next few months.

Jack Curtis, long-time promotor of teen entertainent, has scheduled the opening of Beau Brummel's for the end of this month. Beau Brummel's is, in essence, the reincarnation of the V.I.P., which was the center of teen entertainment before its closing this fall. The club will be at 5555 E. Van Buren, far separated from residential or industrial neighborhoods.

Parking is plentiful and the size of the club itself is nearly 8,000 square feet. A chandelier hangs from the ceiling just inside the entrance. The building resembles a castle and the interior is filled with a number of rooms and passageways.

Besides the main dance area, the club will have several other recreational facilities including a game room and a landscaped terrace. The lobby contains a snack bar, and a balcony is located above the studio.

James Wiggins is planning to open another under-21 club at 75th Street and McDowell Wiggins, a Scottsdale tailor, was manager of the Wanderers. Opening is hopefully scheduled before the holidays.

Due to the success of the Back Door coffee house, the Central Methodist Church is planning more clubs around the Valley catering to each of the various teen entertainment subcultures: folk, rock, psychedelic and soul.
