Alice for July gigs

Alice Cooper is to tour Britain this summer, it was officially announced this week. He will play at least five venues in this country, as part of a full European tour. It will be his first British visit for over 18 months, and the first to feature him as a solo performer.

Alice will be bringing his current U.S. road show — a massive multi-media touring outfit which features special lighting, costumes and scenery, as well as full orchestra and theatrical characters. Because of the lavish nature of the presentation, it is likely that outdoor venues will be sought, with July as the most probably period.

The tour will back up Alice's first solo album, "Welcome To My Nightmare", which Anchor are to release in Britain in March, as the outcome of a recently completed deal for world rights to the LP outside North America. The set is the soundtrack of an hour-long TV special called "Welcome To My Nightmare — The Making Of An Album", which has been compiled during the past year by producer Bob Ezrin. Negotiations are now in hand for the special to be networked in this country in April.
