Hot Shots from Alice
ALICE COOPER "Alice Cooper's Greatest Hits" Warner Bros K 56043.
Now who'd have thought our Alice had had enough hits for a "greatest hits" compilation? The answer, of course, is that he hasn't — not in this country anyway.
But there have still been quite a few, and they're all on this album. Hello Hooray, Elected, Teenage Lament '74, my own favourite No More Mr Nice Guy and the one that started it all for him/her, School's Out.
The other tracks on this album are by no means just padding — and they give a much better all round picture of the real Cooper music. I particularly enjoyed I'm Eighteen, but each track has something to commend itself to lovers of this brand of unsubtle rock 'n' roll.
A good lively listenable album-and a special word of commendation for the cover which is, I assume, a pun on the word "hits". By the way, having just remember how good Alice is, why haven't we seen him for ages and when's he coming back? Answer please, Warner Bros.
