Alice Cooper: Love It To Death

Warner Brothers 1881

When I first saw the Alice Cooper band a couple of years ago they were the rage of the festival circuit, even though they didn't have any albums out. The reason was their total approach to the rock experience through their actions (which involved mainly sadistic transexuality) and the pulsating beat of their very sensual/sexual music. They incorporated theater better than any group because the whole band gets it on in a very spontaneous and high energy way. Well, they blew my mind and I waited eagerly for the album, which was a dud. Then came their second album. A dud. It seemed as though they were too visual and couldn't put it across on a sound level alone. Well, folks, they have finally gotten themselves together and put out a dynamite disc. A truly fine record which I recommend highly even though Alice and the boys won't do a benefit for our home town GLF. But even capitalists make good music.
